COUNSELING

We have several counseling rooms on campus. If you have a problem, please feel free to consult us there.

1. Organization for the Advancement of Education and Global Learning (EAGL)

The Organization for the Advancement of Education and Global Learning (EAGL) provides counseling for international students' study, living, mental problems and other issues.

Consulting by e-mail is also available.

2. Faculty of Agriculture

Counseling rooms are also set up in the Faculties of Agriculture. The counselor is ready to help you on matters concerning either study or daily life.

3. Advisors

Advisors help freshmen from abroad. These students may have difficulty in adjusting to life in Japan. An advisor will be appointed to each class. Please contact the advisor directly.

4. Tutor System

To support international students, we have the tutor system. The tutor offers

extracurricular guidance to the student concerning the Japanese language, classes and daily life. Please take the advantage of this system for higher achievement in your study in Japan.

Generally, tutors are Japanese undergraduate or graduate students of TUAT in the same or related field of study as the international students. Tutors are selected based on the recommendation of the academic advisors. The tutor period is follows:

5. Student Counseling

Student Counseling Room is set up on each campus and is open as a space for free talk between students and staff. Please visit at designated time.

6. Health Counseling

To keep good health conditions both physically and mentally is important for your student life. Please take good care of your own health.

a. Health Service Center

Health Service Center is available for all students to support and advise your health.

They are located in both Fuchu and Koganei campuses and you can use them free of charge. They provide you with simple treatment or introduce appropriate hospitals to you as necessary. Also, professional counseling by doctors and mental counselors are available. Please contact the Health Service Center below.

b. Medical Checkup

Medical checkup for students takes place twice a year in April and October. All details are informed on the related bulletin boards in advance.

We respect all the human rights and try to create the best environment for education and study at TUAT. Please do not worry alone, and contact EAGL, Health Service Center, Student Counseling Room, or wherever you feel most comfortable.
